Climb to the top of the highest dune in Europe to admire a unique panorama of the Bassin d'Arcachon! 106.6 m high, 3 km long… and under our feet, millions of m3 of fine sand and 40 centuries of history! A Dune always in motion, gradually covering the forest, under the action of the wind and the tides. Smart tip: access to the Dune remains free if you come on foot, by bike or by Baïa bus (€1 each way). Paid parking: €6/vehicle for 4 hours (contribution to the preservation of the listed site). Don't think that the Dune du Pilat can only be visited in summer! The colors and the rides are amazing whatever the season of the year. Climb to the top from the steps installed from Easter to All Saints' Day, or for the bravest by the sand! If the weather permits, plan a picnic! Once at the top, breathe and open your eyes wide! From the top of the Dune, you will have a unique view of the Banc d'Arguin Nature Reserve, the forest and the Pointe du Cap Ferret. Walk along the Dune beyond the stairs to enjoy the Grand Site in complete tranquility. At its foot, the beach of the Corniche invites you to a refreshing break or a stroll along the water! Escape for a hike. You will discover endemic plants such as the immortelle of the sands which perfume the surrounding air. From April to September, many nature activities are offered for young and old. For thrill seekers, take to the skies aboard a paraglider
